ethnomusicology
HSI projects are often centered around the recording of indigenous Christian songs or facilitating the composing of new songs. Usually there is a need for further ethnomusicological research. Researching the music and culture of the people group with which the HSI team will work enables the team to better relate to the local musicians. People with the knowledge and skills to provide this research are an important part of HSI.
